Common confusion on being CONFIDENT and PROUD.

Many a times, our friends, relatives and society tend to misunderstand these two adjectives. I want to highlight a simple difference from one of my dictionary (Cambridge).

Confident- [certain] - Being certain that   something will happen.  In other words, certain about your ability to do things well.
Proud - [Pleased] Feeling very pleased about something you have done, something you own, or someone you know.
[Important] Feelings that you are more important than you really are.

Analyzing the adjective form of both, we can make a simple conclusion that being confident is not an act of proud even though it may seem so.  Some people have all the ability to do certain things in them still they couldn’t achieve their goal due to lack of confidence. Being confident is one of the common behaviors that all successful people have. If you are not certain about the things you do, you will never have confidence in it. But too confident always make one’s look proud to the people nearby. It is one of the simple reasons that stopped some people on the last second page of their goal. Being afraid of looking proud fails them repeatedly. On the other hand, the society should also change their mindset that being confident is not always an act of pride. At the same time, confident people should also limit their level of confidence according to the situation. Thank you.
