Common confusion on being CONFIDENT and PROUD.

Many a times, our friends, relatives and society tend to misunderstand these two adjectives. I want to highlight a simple difference from one of my dictionary (Cambridge).

Confident- [certain] - Being certain that   something will happen.  In other words, certain about your ability to do things well.
Proud - [Pleased] Feeling very pleased about something you have done, something you own, or someone you know.
[Important] Feelings that you are more important than you really are.

Analyzing the adjective form of both, we can make a simple conclusion that being confident is not an act of proud even though it may seem so.  Some people have all the ability to do certain things in them still they couldn’t achieve their goal due to lack of confidence. Being confident is one of the common behaviors that all successful people have. If you are not certain about the things you do, you will never have confidence in it. But too confident always make one’s look proud to the people nearby. It is one of the simple reasons that stopped some people on the last second page of their goal. Being afraid of looking proud fails them repeatedly. On the other hand, the society should also change their mindset that being confident is not always an act of pride. At the same time, confident people should also limit their level of confidence according to the situation. Thank you.

My Confession on NERIST Bible Study

Bible Study, as it name implies is the quality time spent by a congregation in learning a particular topic each time from the bible. It main purpose is building the individuals mind and beliefs sharp and stronger every day. In our Institute, NERIST, Bro. Stephen (as it was known) and his wife Dr. Ningrinla Marchang used to organize this Bible study at their house every Tuesday evening, around 6-7 pm. It helps develop the members of NERIST Christian Fellowship (NCF) in so many ways, directly or indirectly.

Knowing its value and importance, I should’ve attended it regularly but I couldn’t. I had attended only twice or thrice a year during my stay out there, usually during winter. There’s a reason behind that. I am unique in different ways. This time my uniqueness results negativity. My toes are short and unique, kind of different in the arrangement of the right one, to be more specific, which catch people’s attention very easily. Accepting oneself, courage, blah blah blah, I already had experienced and thought about it a lot. I never want to make my friends uncomfortable (They would probably think the same too and as a result special sympathy would come to me). Therefore, to live normally (without getting special sympathy), I chose to minimize my attendance. Not only to that Bible study, but in all events, I became choosy, enquiring and analyzing before attending any event.

Lot’s to write about but not necessary to disclose them all. I know everything is planned and made with love by almighty God. There’s nothing we can do and complain about. Every human being has our own weakness and strength.  Let not this weakness stop us from worshiping the true God in our daily life. The strength and ability that we have, those should overpass our weakness. As a result, no one will notice our weakness and limitations but appreciate your ability and worship the God, who gives you strength and guide you all through it. This is what I belief.

Passwords are like socks. Change regularly

There is a common saying in every field. In the field of Information Technology (IT), the said subject is a common saying.

What is password?
Password is one kind of user authentication process. It is most commonly used along with username. This username and password are encrypted and are used to protect the system or site from unauthorized user. The username and password are unique for specified user. Be it personal or groups, password should be made strong in such a way that other than the specified user, none should be able to guess on it. This is why in most social networking site or software, it is always recommended to use at least 8 characters (a combination of alphanumeric and special symbols). The so said combination helps in securing the passwords from various types of hackers (should be discussed in future). The chance of generating correct combination is low if the password is made as mentioned above.

Passwords are like socks?
Nobody put the same socks for a very long time without washing or changing it. If they do so, it either become smelly (people recognizes it sooner or later) or might create several problems to the person (you know it better!). Likewise, if passwords are not well-maintained, sooner or later intruders get into it creating several problems to the computer/software/site. As a result, important information could get revealed which could hamper the future of the individual or departments or groups.

Change regularly?
As discussed earlier, password need to be made as unique as possible with at least 8 characters and should be changed regularly. Regular doesn’t imply every day, it rather signify maintaining proper schedule (random schedule is more preferable) may be daily, weekly, monthly etc. depending on the software or site.

In today’s world, any information can be traced out within no time through our finger tips; we called ourselves lucky but we tend to forget the other side that is while we can trace desire information easily, our information too, got spread out easily. Therefore, securing ourselves and maintaining privacy is a must. Take it seriously and start the first simple step by maintaining your password from today. Always remember, “Well beginning is half done”.  All the best.

That 3-hour Journey

It was summer afternoon. After all my work was done, I took ticket from the counter and within no time we depart from that place. I was sitting in the front seat alone until a beautiful, innocent and gorgeous lady waves her hand towards our vehicle.

Being alone was the feeling I usually experienced until I saw that lady smiling at me. My heart got pounded and at the same time a lot of thought comes in the mind. I clearly remember a temporary confirmation I made to myself at that moment which was like “No matter who I am, She’s the one that I’m longing and waiting for!”

The driver stopped the vehicle. That day I don’t face any job interview, so it seems luck was on my side!. To my surprise, She came towards me and I had to open the door for her (Never will she realized that I also open the door of my heart fully from that moment). She came in and sat uncomfortably by my side. To make her comfortable, I started a conversation the best I could from self-introduction to some silly question(s) which she responded very well. I discovered that she wasn’t just beautiful and innocent by the look but also the same at heart. From her behavior and dress code, one can predict that she’s quite updated with modern’s fashion and well educated too.

Not to mention all the details but for me that journey was like a blink of an eye. I don’t need any better environment at that moment. The ticket allotment along with the playlist of the driver, everything was perfect. It feels like I was drowned in the river called ‘Love’. A thousand wish I made within, while she lay asleep on my shoulder. I couldn’t take off my eyes from her innocent face. From that moment, I temporarily realized the common statement, “Love is blind”. I was temporarily made blind by her charm and beauty at those time too because flashing back that day, I don’t remember any of the other passenger travelling along with us.

While I was dreaming on, the vehicle had reached our destination. Unfortunately, I was the one to get off first before the vehicle reached its counter. The heart wants to say special goodbye to her but that doesn’t happen; I took my luggage and jumped off the vehicle saying general Good bye to the entire passenger. From that afternoon till today, whenever I traveled to and from that place, nothing new enters in the mind other than “That 3-hour Journey. “
